What is "Washi"?

Tosa Washi, with over a thousand years of history, is one of the three most famous types of Japanese paper. Despite its very thin and soft texture, it is also remarkably durable, widely used in the restoration of important cultural properties. Known for its beautiful dyeing techniques, Tosa Washi comes in a wide variety of colors, thicknesses, and manufacturing methods, making it a prominent traditional craft.
