Why is it strong?
Why is it durable and tear-resistant?
The raw material for Tosa washi paper is the fiber of a tree called kozo .
While the pulp used in Western paper is less than 1mm in length, the fibers of kozo are overwhelmingly long, measuring 5-20mm , and when the fibers intertwine, they form a strong bond.
Handmade Tosa washi paper can withstand use for up to 100 years and is often used in the restoration of important cultural properties.

You will make your own washi paper for your marriage certificate. We will then print your design on the finished washi paper.
Process
Production flow
- Once you have made your reservation, we will send you an email with instructions. Please reply with the design data you would like to print at least one week before the experience date . We will check in advance whether the data can be printed without any problems.
- Time required on the day: 60-90 minutes
- After a general explanation, each participant will have the opportunity to try their hand at papermaking.
- Don't worry, you can try several times until you get it right.
- Spray, dry and print your marriage certificate.
- You can take it home on the day.
- If you would like to create something other than a marriage certificate, please let us know when you make your reservation.
*Depending on the printer's condition on the day, we may ship the product at a later date.
*Smartphone stands are available, so please let the staff know if you would like to take videos during the experience.

Carry-on design size
- Please note that you will need to provide your own design data. We are unable to edit the data.
- Please prepare B5 size (182mm wide x 257mm high) Adobe Illustrator ai data (outlined), PDF data, PNG image, JPG image, or Adobe Photoshop PSD data.
- When preparing your design, please leave 7mm of margins on all four sides and make sure the design fits within an area of 168mm wide x 243mm high.
- We will check the design data in advance approximately one week before the experience date, so please make your reservation well in advance.
- Whether or not a designed marriage registration form will be accepted may vary depending on the local government. We recommend checking in advance.
There are websites online that offer marriage certificate templates.
There are some designs that can be created for free, so please feel free to use them.
